DDA Revised Policy - Additions/Alterations in DDA Flats Now Regularised (MoHUA Approved)
The Delhi Development Authority has issued a revised policy (30 June 2026) for permission and regularisation of additions/alterations in DDA flats. Approved by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. Supersedes all earlier circulars on the subject. Applicable to all DDA-built flats irrespective of notified/de-notified area.
Key Change: 16 types of minor modifications are now freely allowed WITHOUT any intimation or permission from DDA/MCD. Existing unauthorised additions can also be regularised under this policy.
Category I - Permitted WITHOUT Intimation/Permission (16 Items)

Applicability Limits: Policy applicable for upto G+4 storey only. For DDA multi-storey housing - only Para 6, 9, 10, 11, 16 of Cat-I & Para 6 of Cat-II allowed. Buildings before 21.03.2001 need Structural Audit for Cat-II (Para 3,4,5) & Cat-III.

Good News for DDA Flat Owners: Verandah glazing, loft, courtyard doors, parapet raising, ramps, EV charging, flooring change, half-brick wall removal - all freely allowed now. No permission, no fee, no application needed.
Common Areas Remain Common: Roof terrace & common staircase (extended to roof terrace) cannot be used exclusively by any single owner/group. Courtyard/open spaces at LOP level remain common for all residents of the scheme.
